A noise, similar to rattling gears, is coming from the gearbox and disappears when the clutch pedal is depressed. The noise, with varying intensity, is audible in the left wheel well.
The noise is also audible in the 1st and 2nd gear under load at approximately < 1,000/min and during downhill driving.
Cause:
Tolerances in the gearbox.
VAG's proposed solution:
Avoid repair if possible!
The noise has no effect on the function and lifespan of the gearbox.
