In the 1.9 TDI PD engine with MKB: ASZ and a production date of November 2002, a Garrett turbocharger is installed, specifically the GT17 49V turbocharger, which is the same as used in the 110 kW ARL TDI engines; I have compared the specifications.

What is the actual boost pressure of a standard 1.9L 150hp common rail engine?

By the way, I don't think the 150 hp version has the same turbocharger as the 130 hp version (which uses a 1.3 bar boost pressure).
The difference in maximum boost pressure is quite significant.

The 150 hp PD-TDI engine is equipped with a Garrett VNT 20 turbocharger.

I only know the designation Garett VNT 17.

According to the original Volkswagen repair documentation, both the 130 hp and 150 hp TDI engines use the same turbocharger: a Garrett GT17 49V.

It's funny that the image shown for your link is a turbocharger with a wastegate.

I'm not familiar with the designation 'GT'; I always thought they were called 'VNT.'

The thing about the repair manuals is interesting. A friend of mine has a Leon with a 150hp TDI engine, and the designation includes a '20' somewhere.

I believe the GT 17 49 can deliver a maximum pressure of up to 1.8 bar!
It's typically operated at 1.5 bar in the 150 series and at 1.3 bar in the 130 series.
