Hello,
I'm new here. I hope you can help me.
Problem description.
Leave around midday. Everything seems normal. After traveling to the next town, the vehicle experiences a loss of power (enters emergency mode).
Turn off the engine and restart it. The ESP warning light comes on. There is still no power (the car is in emergency mode). Then I went to a VW workshop to have the error codes read.
It starts very poorly.
17957
Magnetic valve for boost pressure control - N75.
Short circuit to ground.
Sporadically.
17849
Exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) valve - N18.
Short circuit to ground.
Sporadically.
19561
Throttle control valve for intake manifold - N239.
Short circuit to ground.
Sporadically.
19463
Camshaft position sensor - G40.
No signal.
We found a burnt-out solenoid valve, which is normally located under the exhaust gas recirculation system, on the exhaust pipe.
Part ordered, installed, but the same error persists.
Emergency mode (very limited performance).
Ordered a new camshaft sensor today.
Errors cannot be deleted!
Does anyone know about this problem? Or can anyone help me?
Thank you in advance. VW-Arneth

As always with electrical problems, it's a good idea to check the fuses .
Fuse 234, 10A, has tripped. These are the components that are connected to it.
You'll have to figure out the numbering of the fuse yourself; I only have the number from the wiring diagram.
Regards,
Sure, here's the translation:
"Guste" is a German word that means "gust" or "gust of wind." It can also be used to describe a sudden burst of something, such as laughter or anger.

Hello,
Have you looked at the wiring diagram? All your sensors and actuators are also powered by the 109 relay. I would check the relay and then measure the wiring harness according to the wiring diagram.
I've experienced the same error messages multiple times with different vehicles, and most of the time it was because the relay 109 was faulty. In some cases, the wiring harness was also damaged (with short circuits, etc.).
Best regards,

Hello,
Today, I'm finding resolution for my mistakes.
Thanks for the tip about the fuses. Fuse number 34 blew (tripped) with a 10A rating.
It started up much better this time.
Error memory cleared.
Test drive.
But unfortunately, there's still no improvement in performance.
Error codes still showing the same errors.
Had a visit to the workshop to have a new camshaft sensor installed.
Error memory cleared, attempted to start the engine, but it won't start.
Error memory:
Camshaft position sensor out of tolerance.
Timing belt misaligned by one tooth!
"How could this happen?!?!? I drove 10,000 kilometers with this timing belt!!"
Timing belt adjusted.
Clear error codes.
Engine restarts.
Test drive with reading out data from 5052 tester measurement blocks.
NO intercooler for turbochargers.
The AGR controller, which had also been replaced, was connected incorrectly.
Test drive, intercooler OK.
The car is running great again!!
Thank you again to everyone. VW-Arneth

hello,
Everyone was happy with your relay 109.
I have the following problem:
During the drive, my Golf sometimes turns off unexpectedly, without any warning or other signs.
My car details are:
Volkswagen Golf 3 TDI, 1.9L engine, 66kW (90hp), manufactured in February 1994.
"Then the tachometer goes to 0 and all the warning lights illuminate. I've noticed that the preheating light is dim, and then I can't start the car, at least not until the error disappears again."
The error memory scan revealed 0 errors.
I have already replaced relay 109 as well.
I have already resoldered the circuit board for the anti-theft system's control unit.
I'm completely at a loss; I don't know what else to do.
Can someone help me or give me a tip? gruß
