VW T5 GRA: What does it mean?

"Hello, I installed the GRA (glow relay assembly) in my VW T5, manufactured in 2005, with a 1.9 TDI engine (AXB-059-964). I then tried to unlock it using the login code 11463. The code was accepted, but the GRA still doesn't work. Instead, I now have an error code 1637 in the engine control unit's memory."

Please download the latest VAG-COM 607.3 version to the customer's account .
Regarding the GRA issue, I'm not really sure what to do other than checking the switch bits in the corresponding measurement block.
Regarding the error code: Did you accidentally mess with the control unit coding?

I entered the login code with a -10 encoding.

...and please post a complete car scan, then we might be able to see where your problem lies.

Hm, function 10 is "adaptation," and that wouldn't be ideal. How can I enter a login code there?

It has nothing to do with eFH, but if you would just post the results of the auto-scan, as I've asked you to do multiple times, you would have a concrete answer by now.

It definitely seems like your vehicle's body control module is incompatible, which means you probably need a new one.

That would be terrible. Is it possible to simply replace the control unit like that?

Today I installed a GRA (Gearbox Retrofit Adapter) in a Multivan Startline (R5 2.5 TDI), using the 11463 unlocking code, and it's working. However, the ESP (Electronic Stability Program) light is now on, and I have the following error in the ABS control unit.

There's something to it; the control units that come standard with the power window option don't cause any problems when retrofitting the GRA (presumably a specific system).
