"Hi, but in which production year was the emissions warning light installed in the Golf 4 TDI? I have a Golf 4 TDI 150 hp with engine code ARL and 4Motion, manufactured in 02/02, and the warning light doesn't illuminate when I turn on the ignition. However, a friend with an ASZ engine, manufactured in 06/03, has the light coming on."
"This issue also doesn't appear during the actuator test (engine control unit) on my car, but it does on my friend's car, which then displays the message 'Engine fault, workshop required'."
I'm really curious why this isn't lighting up for me.
Sure, here is the translation of the text from German to English:
"MFG" is an abbreviation for "mit freundlichen Grüßen," which means "best regards" or "sincerely." It is commonly used in German-language emails and letters. Audi SQ5 8R Cvub

Hi.
"That's strange, it should have already been available from the 2002 model year. However, I can't read any reasonable values using VAG-COM on either vehicle via OBD. Is this only related to the engine control unit, or are there other factors involved? Both vehicles have the Euro 3 emissions standard."

Not with diesel.

What do you understand by "reasonable values"?

HI.
It's not showing up under "Exhaust Gas Recirculation" (EGR) in VAG Com 7... and otherwise, nothing useful appears in the OBD measurement block.

If the control unit doesn't provide the data, the VC (Vehicle Computer) can't display anything either. Today, I also had a 2006 A6 that did NOT support OBD-2/EOBD.
