Hi everyone, especially @
Ernst
:
A long time ago, we discussed the acceleration characteristics of TDIs versus gasoline turbo engines, and at that time, we were looking for information about a 1.8T engine swap in a Passat.
I can send that to you now... This weekend, I drove my parents' car again.
Passat 3BG, 02/01, 1.8T (I don't know the engine code), all original, reaches 2500 RPM in 5th gear at a speedometer reading of 100. For comparison, my Ibiza 6K with an ASV engine shows approximately 2000 RPM at a speedometer reading of 100.
Subjectively, the 1.8T felt slower than my TDI, but that might be due to the weight of the car (1450 kg + 4 people), as well as the fact that the engine was driven more gently during its break-in period.
And... I wasn't really sure anymore what to do with this wide rev range

.
Best regards,
Jan, who has been somewhat distant lately due to work-related stress.
