7-Digit PIN Failure: Common Causes & Solutions

"Since I wanted to replace my instrument cluster, I contacted several dealers to obtain the necessary codes. Unfortunately, not a single dealer was willing to generate a 7-digit PIN, provide the WSC (Vehicle Identification Number), or give me the importer number. I had to listen to all sorts of things, from 'a replacement is not possible' to 'you have to come in person, they can't do it remotely. Please bring your ID and vehicle registration as proof of ownership!'"

Can someone here possibly help me and provide or obtain the data I need?

VW workshops are actually not allowed to give you the code.
Do you perhaps know anyone who works at Volkswagen?

I also had to show my ID and the vehicle registration document, because the workshop is responsible if you mess something up with the vehicle identification number.

And always remember, the code is only valid for 24 hours!

Not with VAG-COM.
You can still use the code two years later. You just need to know the date it was generated.
