I own an Audi A4 2.5 TDI, manufactured in 1998, with a 150 horsepower engine and license plate AFB.

Unfortunately, I need to replace the engine control unit (part number 8D0 907 401 A) in my car.
Sometimes, the only available control unit is part number 4B0 907 401 H (removed from an A6).
Does anyone know if these two control units can be installed interchangeably?

Thank you!

Hi,
I wouldn't rule out the possibility that it could work.
but the datasets differ not only in the feature fields.
but also within the actual program.

If you try it, please let me know what happens.

Best regards, Rudi.

Here's the translation:

'One more question: Does the control unit 4B0 907 401 H belong to the AFB or AKN engine?'

Greetings.
Rafael.

What does code 2002 mean in the engine control unit (ECU)?

Rafael.

where is 'code 2002' located?

With the engine control unit (ECU) from an A6 (immobilizer deactivated), the engine starts, runs for about 20 seconds, and then shuts off. However, I heard that the workshop didn't make any adjustments, and they said 'that's not necessary.' The old ECU has the code '2002,' while the new one has '1002.' To me, it seems illogical to replace the ECU without any parameterization.

What does the encoding '1002' and '2002' mean?

Greetings.
Rafael.

Hello Rafael,

01002
01 = A6; 0 = not applicable; 0 = not applicable; 2 = Manual transmission, front-wheel drive, with and without ESP.

02002
02 = A4; 0 = not applicable; 0 = not applicable; 2 = Manual transmission, front-wheel drive, with and without ESP.

where the control units are supposedly unaware of each other's coding (01 vs. 02).

How did you disable the WFS? It seems like it's supposed to be active after a certain time x.
A typical characteristic of WFS, where x for VP37 and PD-TDI injectors is approximately 1-2 seconds.
It's possible that it takes longer with the VP44 pump due to its 'intelligent' design.

Best regards, Rudi.

I have a question regarding the German VAT Act (Umsatzsteuergesetz) from the Federal Ministry of Finance (Bundesministerium der Finanzen).

My engine control unit (ECU) seems to be chipped, and I would like to replace it with a different one! Can I take all the parts from the replacement ECU, even if it has a different part number? For example, 4BO 907 401 S.
I have the number 4b0 907 401 P.
