Hello.

I own a 1998 325tds.
When the engine is hot or cold, you need to let it run for at least 20 to 30 seconds before starting.
until the engine starts.
Once the engine is running, there is no smoke, the performance is good, and the fuel consumption is good.

I suspect the engine temperature probe is defective. Has anyone experienced this?
reference value in ohms for me.

Best regards, Werner, from South Africa.

Hi Werner,

Dieselschrauber.de goes worldwide! icon_smile.gif

Okay, let's talk about your problem:

The injection system in your car is almost identical to that of the VW VP TDI engine (except for having 6 cylinders). I think you might have a problem with the timing of the injection pump.
On the main page of Rainers Turbodiesel's website, you will find a quite good explanation of how to adjust the injection pump without expensive workshop tools.

I think your German language skills are good enough to understand most of it.

Best regards from cold Germany.

Best regards,
Bertil

Hello Gustav.

If even people like you are having comprehension problems, I will probably have to revise the text again... thank you for the "subtle hint" icon_redface.gif.
