Hello,
Michael II wrote: | Hi Rainer,
Lately, there's been a lot of talk again about various problems with workshops.
What would be a suitable category or section where this could be documented?
Sure, I will translate the text from German to English. Please provide the text.
The engine mounts were incorrectly installed during the timing belt replacement, causing a humming noise.
Here's the translation:
This means no evaluation of the workshop, just a collection of things to pay attention to during a workshop visit. |
What do you think about it?
Best regards, Rainer.

Hi Rainer,
The basic idea is, in my opinion, great .
I don't have a concrete plan yet regarding the specifics of the information gathering, but I think it will work out. Gruß Ulf

Hello Rainer,
After the timing belt replacement recently, the counter-holder got bent and a corner of the camshaft broke off, because the VAG specialists probably used the tightening torque for the crankshaft , I think this section is a very good idea.
Best regards, Rudi.

'Good idea, as many people here probably have specific stories about working on VW vehicles! Perhaps, based on the data collected, it might be possible to analyze where VW workshops generally have deficits and where they are successful.'
Perhaps we can then create even more comprehensive and detailed troubleshooting guides specifically for problems that Volkswagen workshops are unable to resolve.

Hi,
I also think it's a good idea, because there must be a reason why forums like this are so popular!
Best regards, Jürgen.

Hello,
For the sake of clarity, it would be helpful if we could agree on a specific structure.
Okay, gib mir den Text.
- What kind of car is it (make, model year, mileage, engine code, gearbox code)?
- Why was the car in the workshop?
- What was done in the workshop?
- What problems occurred afterwards, and what was wrong?
- Possibly, later on: What was the solution to the problem? Tschüss

Hey,
The idea itself is good, however, I fear there will be an overwhelming outpouring of emotional venting about workshops and other irrelevant topics, which certainly won't help anyone. I think it needs to be carefully filtered.
Best regards from Bielefeld.
Peter.

Hello everyone,
I completely agree with Peter. Personally, after many negative experiences with VAG workshops, I now prefer to do everything myself, except for oil changes, so that I have proof of the mileage when I resell the car. However, I don't think it's very useful to create a real database of mishaps and problems that occur during or after visits to workshops. After all, a workshop doesn't necessarily have to be bad just because a mistake happens once. What's more important is what the workshop does to rectify the mistake... and I doubt that all the reports here would remain completely objective, let alone that there would be any positive reviews.
Best regards,

Hello,
For this very reason, no evaluation or mention of the workshop should be made. Please refer to the information above. Tschüss
