Hello everyone,

I bought a used VW T4 van!
Since it's producing a lot of black smoke and I've already ruled out any mechanical issues (the EGR valve is also faulty), the question now is whether my van has been chipped.

Can someone provide a knowledgeable opinion on this?

The previous owner is denying everything! icon_rolleyes.gif

Fuel injection quantity in the engine control unit (ECU): 001 indicates 42.2 mg/stroke.

It's a VW T4, engine code: AJT, with 88 horsepower, manufactured in November 2002.

It would be great if someone could help me! icon_biggrin.gif

"Thank you, best regards."

Unfortunately, you cannot access the attachments because the T4 forum requires registration.
Either upload it here to the upload area, or, if that doesn't work, send it to me.
I'm attaching it here.

Best regards, Micha.

Well, if I had to put it that way, it definitely deviates from the original series.

The desired dosage should be between 32-36 mg/H.
Smoke + dizziness at 30-35mg/H.

With values around 42, you would likely be significantly above the smoke limit icon_smile.gif.

Yes, that thing smokes like crazy. new_cry.gif

The question now is: Should we retrofit the LLK (likely referring to a specific vehicle or engine component) in the hope that it will no longer produce so much soot?
or play the original software again!???
