AFN Injectors: Compatible with AHF Engines?

Hi!

"I found a set of fuel injectors at a good price. The part numbers are: 028 130 201 T and 028 130 201 S, which are needle lift injectors. They are intended for an AFN engine. However, I need injectors for an AHF engine, which is quite similar to the AFN. The part numbers are not identical. Do you think they might still fit? And what is the difference between them? Are there perhaps suitable injectors from Daimler-Chrysler?"

Theoretically, they are the same. I think you can use them without any problems.

I don't know if Daimler produces anything like that.

AFN is one generation older than AHF.
They also have different pumps, as far as I know - in short, the entire injection system is probably tuned differently in detail.

Does the AHF already have Euro 3 emissions standards? The AFN certainly only has Euro 2.

Mine is the Euro 3 version and I believe it's the successor to the AFN, just like you said.

I checked in the AKTE system yesterday, and it shows that the injectors for the AFN and AHF engines have the same part number. Only the injector with the NHG code has an additional "X" at the end.

I think that probably says more about the year it was manufactured, or whether the nozzle is new or has been replaced. However, I can't confirm that with certainty.

"X" refers to interchangeable nozzles. The part numbers are the same for both AFN and AHF models.
028 130 201 T for standard nozzles.
028 130 201 S for NHG.

Now that's been clarified, when you replace the injectors, do you always replace those copper seals between the injector and the cylinder head?

That's the only item costing just one cent at VW, so you should probably replace it as a precaution. However, I've also installed those rings twice before... then you have to turn them around .

I don't have the nozzles yet; I have several offers under consideration, one of which is from eBay, and another from an eBay seller who isn't currently offering them on the platform.
Offers like these pop up from time to time, so don't panic.
