Replacing the WPU (Water Pump Unit) during a ZR (Zylinderkopf) change is MANDATORY, even if the manufacturer doesn't explicitly require it.

I have always used only genuine VW repair kits because of the good trade prices, which are cheaper than the Contitech kits. However, in my experience, Contitech kits are just as good for other brands.
My 4x4 currently has a Bosch belt kit installed, which the workshop chose back then. It still looks perfectly fine after 50,000 km.
