BKD Engine: Does it have a balance shaft module?

Hi,

Being made aware of the current damage to the hexagon of the oil pump drive, I would like to know if the BKD engine installed in a colleague's Touran is also affected.

No, the BKD engine does not have an balance shaft module.

However, the chain tensioner, which drives the oil pump from the crankshaft, can fail.

However, I'm not sure at what mileage this occurs, or how frequently.
