To all the professionals!
I'm interested in knowing by how much, on average, the fuel injection amount should be reduced to slightly reduce soot production, without having to accept a significant loss of performance. This is a T4, 2.5 TDI, ACV, manufactured in 2000, with a chip tuning, which is now producing some soot. I would be willing to sacrifice some performance to slightly reduce soot production. I'm concerned about the oil saturation; is this value a three- or four-digit number for the T4 ACV? What amount in mg corresponds to a reduction of the value (20 for a four-digit number, 2 for a three-digit number)?
I read the article, but I would still like to hear your opinions on it.

Hello Peter,
I suspect you want to reduce the injection quantity slightly via the adaptation channels?
You'll see how much it decreases or increases best when the engine is warm and idling.
However, there isn't much that can be done, but it's still worth a try.
Adjust the fuel injection amount using adaptation so that your diagnostic device reads the highest possible value.
The actual amount of fuel injected remains the same at idle, but when the accelerator is pressed, less fuel is injected because the engine control unit now bases its calculations on the higher actual value (while a target value is predetermined).

Hello,
I also experienced a problem with the engine's power delivery when revving it up (in 1st to 3rd gear).
I purchased a gasoline/diesel additive from Otto Mathy (www.mathy.de).
Mix in a ratio of 1:1000 before every fourth tankful!
Before filling up the tank, I added 40 ml to it.
After about 50 km, I was able to observe a reduction in exhaust emissions.
Previously, I had been fogging the windshield of the vehicles behind me, especially at night!
It seems to me that I experienced just as little soot formation with biodiesel.

However, I'm skeptical about fuel additives. All owner's manuals advise against using them. The quality of the fuel makes a huge difference. When I fill up at Jet or discount gas stations, the soot production is many times higher than when I fill up at OMV, which, in my opinion, provides the cleanest diesel. It's well known that biodiesel produces less soot, but there are also many arguments against it, such as reduced performance, increased fuel consumption, and potential damage to components that come into contact with biodiesel.
