VAG Dash Can Calibration: Stuttgart, 3C Models

Hello,

I would like to have a used engine control unit programmed/initialized.

Vehicle: Passat 3C, model year 2009, engine code CBDC, 2.0 TDI 81Kw. Is it possible to install a VAG dash CAN module on this model year, or do I need to go to a dealer?
If it's possible with a VAG Dash Can, is there anyone in the Stuttgart area who owns a VAG Dash Can and could read out the login codes from the old and "new" engine control unit for me?

I'm somehow not very confident about dealing with "Freundlich" and I'm afraid they won't be thrilled if someone shows up with an engine control unit purchased online (although I do have the receipt). Perhaps someone has a tip about a dealer who might find such "experiments" interesting.
