Hello,
there's something new! :)
Because independent workshops often face the problem that VCDS only allows for repairs on vehicles from the VAG group, I've been thinking about this for a long time.
After various tests, I believe the OBD diagnostic device SC880 (predecessor device CG680Pro) is a great option for allowing independent workshops to perform service and repairs on vehicles from BMW, Mercedes, and many other brands. It supports more than 40:
ABARTH, ACURA, ALFA ROMEO, ASTON MARTIN, AUDI, BUICK, BENTLEY, BENZ, BMW, BRILLIANCE, BUGATTI, CHERY, CHRYSLER, CITROEN, DACIA, DAEWOO, DAIHATSU, FERRARI, FIAT, FORD, GM, HOLDEN, HONDA, HYUNDAI, INFINITI, ISUZU, JAGUAR, KIA, LAMBORGHINI, LANCIA, LANDROVER, LEXUS, MASERATI, MAYBACH, MAZDA, MERCEDES BENZ, MINI, MITSUBISHI, NISSAN, OPEL, PERODUA, PEUGEOT, PORSCHE, PROTON, RENAULT, ROLLS-ROYCE, SAAB, SAMSUNG, SCION, SEAT, SKODA, SMART, SSANGYONG, SUBARU, SUZUKI, TATA, TESLA, TOYOTA, VAUXHALL etc.
Highlights:
- Conversion of BMW, support for E36 (BMW 3 Series Cabrio from 1995) up to BMW X5 F15
- Service reset for Mercedes
- Renault Traffic, Opel Vivaro and Nissan NV 300
- Dieselschrauber support
- Free software updates throughout the device's lifespan
The goal of the OBD diagnostic device is a reliable tool for work, not a fancy style, i.e. the current state is operation via buttons instead of touch.
Like VCDS, the OBD diagnostic tool uses the manufacturer's proprietary diagnostic protocols, enabling the common diagnostic actions necessary for service and repair. This allows for much more than what is possible with a standard OBD-2 system.
Best regards, Rainer
