Hello,

I'm about to reach 150,000 km, and I need to replace the timing belt.

Of course, every parts dealer recommends a timing belt kit.

Can someone tell me which parts are included in a sentence like that?

If I buy a timing belt and a tensioner pulley, it will cost me around 90 euros.
and a timing belt kit is supposed to cost 170 euros. (Discount prices)
Should a guide roller and a guide rail cost 80 euros?

Greetings.

Flatscher.

Hello Flatscher,

That naturally depends on the engine, doesn't it? Are you familiar with this website?

Hi flatscher.

How do you determine that the timing belt needs to be replaced at 150,000 km?

This is NOT a typical VW maintenance interval!

greetings

Hello,

I changed the first timing belt at 60,000 km, according to Volkswagen, and the new one can last for another 90,000 km, which means a total of 150,000 km.

Greetings.

Flatscher.

Okay, then it's clear.

Here's another Contilink, also with interval information regarding VW:
