Hi!
I know I'm a bit slow, but I have another question.
When I run the loopback test, I get a consistent baud rate of 57600. However, when I connect the cable to the car, I first get a message indicating that everything is working, then a message saying that the adapter was not found, then a message saying that the device is unknown, and so on... (it keeps changing like a random number generator).
'And then, if it finally works and I connect to a control unit, I get the message that it can't synchronize the baud rate.'
It might depend on the shielding, as my cable to the car is about 3 meters long and has no shielding.
Maybe you know what might be causing that.

Vehicle: Audi A4 B5, 1996, Quattro, 2.8 gasoline engine, 200 horsepower.
Hardware: Interface by Mark Neugebauer, using a Max232 chip.
Search function: Yes, but the problem lies elsewhere.
I probably thought that the missing shielding in the cable might be causing external interference to induce signals that make the signal unusable, or something like that.

Probably, I thought that the signal was becoming unusable due to foreign induction in the cable, caused by a lack of shielding.
Hello!
I've experienced this problem too!
This is due to the connector itself, as it is not equipped with automatic baud rate detection.
Make sure to set it to auto-baud rate detection, and it should work.
Sincerely, Maxx.

aha thxl
'But is there no way I can still use my interface? Because I've already invested some money and time into it, and it would be a shame if it all went to waste?'
And also, an interface costing 400€ wouldn't be worth it for me, as I would use it far too infrequently.
Well, thanks anyway.
Best regards, Patrick.

Have you ever experimented with the K/L - K1/K2 switch?
Tried different baud rates?
Best regards, Rainer.
