Ignition Coil Warranty Period

Please forgive me for asking, as this component is not actually found in a diesel engine.

I'm having a problem with my independent repair shop:

About a year ago, the ignition coil on my father's Toledo (1.8L, year 1995) was defective. There was also a corresponding recall from VW. SEAT, however, remained completely silent. Last week, the coil was defective again. My workshop claims that there is no warranty on it, as it's an electrical component.
I work in the radio and television industry. Naturally, there is a 2-year manufacturer's warranty on line transformers in televisions. After the amendment to product liability law at the beginning of 2002, the manufacturer is even obligated to cover the replacement costs within the warranty period.

What do you think about this? What do you recommend I do?

You cannot rely on the statutory warranty after six months, as the burden of proof shifts to the consumer, who must then prove that the defect existed from the time of purchase. I am unfortunately unable to provide information about any manufacturer's warranty that may apply.

However, if there's a recall campaign at VW but seemingly not at Seat, I would definitely investigate that. It can't be right that there are recall campaigns for the same engine types at VW but not at Seat.

That was the second-to-last repair. I had contacted SEAT in writing. They're just trying to resolve it, and I can't afford a lawyer because of the 80 euros. But surely someone here knows if there's a standard 2-year warranty for an ignition transformer. I know about the warranty for a deflection transformer in a television.
