Here's a question: Does using pure vegetable oil (like the kind you can buy at Aldi or similar stores) cause a loss of performance? And what about mixing it? Does the vegetable oil mix with the diesel, or not?

Best regards, WarLord.

I'm currently running my car with a 50% plant-based oil mixture. The performance is still good.
The fuel consumption is the same for me, given my driving profile.
I always put in about 30 liters first, and then I drive to the gas station.
"During that time, I noticed a slight vibration, but it disappears when I press the accelerator."
It's funny because when it's idling, it smells really strongly of fried food.

@Steffarn: 50% Biodiesel, doesn't the engine oil level increase for you? Do you only drive long distances? In my old A4 (B5, 220,000 km, AFN), I once used two tankfuls with about 30% biodiesel content about 3 years ago, and after that, the oil level rose significantly above the maximum mark. --> Oil change icon_sad.gif

Meanwhile (again with an A4 B5 with 210,000 km, AFN engine), I'm experimenting again with 10-15% and I no longer notice an increase in the engine oil level (as far as I can tell). However, the initial experiments were with biodiesel + used engine oil, and now it's diesel + used engine oil. Perhaps the ESDs (Engine System Diagnostics) were just faulty back then? Since I drive a lot of short distances (15 km to work) now, just like I did then, I'm not yet brave enough to increase the percentage of used engine oil. Well, let's see how the price of diesel develops. icon_evil.gif

Squeezing the 1l PET bottles is also a bit annoying icon_rolleyes.gif.

Regards,
Udo.

Hi! With a blend of 30-50% rapeseed oil to RME, I get the impression that it seems to work a bit more smoothly than with pure RME. It might just be my imagination.

Aber den Mölstand werde ich jetzt mal beobachten. Good tip.

Sure, here is the translation of the text from German to English:

'cu' is a Spanish abbreviation for 'con usted,' which means 'with you.' It is often used in online communication to indicate that the sender is available to chat or talk.

Here is an example of how 'cu' might be used in a conversation:

Person A: 'Hey, I'm bored. Want to chat?'
Person B: 'Cu!'

This means that Person B is available to chat with Person A.

'Cu' can also be used to indicate that the sender is thinking about the recipient. For example, if Person A sends a message to Person B and then receives a reply that says 'cu,' it could mean that Person B is thinking about Person A and wants to connect with them.

Overall, 'cu' is a versatile abbreviation that can be used in a variety of ways. It is a common way to indicate availability, interest, or affection in online communication.

Okay:

'In my PD Passat (AWX, 96kW), I've been running a 50:50 mixture of biodiesel and regular diesel for over 7,000 km without any problems. I haven't experienced any cold start issues or any noticeable oil dilution. Last week, with the high temperatures, I was running at about 75% biodiesel. However, I occasionally experienced some engine hesitation, which I suspect is due to a clogged fuel filter. The problem is that refueling is difficult. If I add a large amount of biodiesel at once, I experience hesitation for the first few kilometers. If I mix the fuel outside of the tank, there are no problems. It's just a legal issue...'

My wife is currently driving my A4 because her Corsa was totaled. I converted it to a two-tank system a few weeks ago. So far, it's working without any problems, no jerking or stalling. The performance is identical to that of a regular diesel. I just got back from a few days on the Baltic Sea with a caravan. The car bravely endured the smell of fried food without any complaints.
