LMM Correction: What Happened?

The electronic correction of the LMM signal was discussed. I might also have a similar issue. I have designed a circuit that passes the LMM signal with a gain of 1 up to a voltage of 1.5 to 2V, and for higher input voltages, the gain continues to increase.
This topic hasn't been discussed here for about a year. Is the effort even worthwhile? How much longer can the LMM (likely referring to a specific device or component) be used?

Perhaps it's because, on the one hand, many people find this elaborate modification unnecessary (older TDI models work perfectly well with a simple diode), and on the other hand, some people aren't willing to spend 80 euros to tinker around (developing, replicating, and hoping it works... it will likely cost more than buying a new MAF sensor).
