Hello,
Can anyone tell me whether the T4 TDI with 102 hp (ACV) engine uses a wastegate turbocharger or a variable geometry turbocharger? Also, what type of injectors does the ACV engine have?
Context: I'm planning to install an ACV engine in my T4 with a 78 horsepower naturally aspirated diesel engine (AAB), but I want to learn everything about the TDI engine beforehand. Has anyone here done this conversion?

Sorry, I don't know.
However, when it comes to modifications like these, what's often more interesting is whether you can get everything officially registered.
Did they have the same braking system?
The exhaust needs to be changed.
Do the motor mounts fit?
etc.

You can find a lot of information about such conversions on Google. I strongly suspect that the braking system will need to be adjusted, as the top speed will increase significantly.
Perhaps Mc_Givertechnik, who owns an ACV, could provide some information about the technical specifications in this forum.

Based on the values for the ACV listed under "technical data" here.
250/2300 to 7/97; 250/1900..2300 from 8/97.
I wonder if there's a possibility that he owns a VTG turbocharger. While I can't imagine someone swapping a WG (wastegate) for a VTG (variable turbine geometry) while keeping the same engine control unit (ECU), the torque curve does seem to suggest a VTG, doesn't it?

That can be quickly recognized on the N75 of the ACV.
It should have cost 30 EUR originally, but later it cost over 100 (VTG pressure transducers are just that expensive).

Hmph...
...that's how Alzheimer's often starts (did I delete my previous rambling?).
The ACV had a K14 turbocharger from KKK installed until 2003.
(The file situation is the same.)
VTG is integrated into the 150 hp (AHY?) system.
Best regards,
Rudi

hello
Starting in 2003, there was a 'detuned' 150 hp engine available exclusively in the Syncro models. This engine, while officially rated at 102 hp, featured a variable turbine geometry (VTG) turbocharger and the larger intercooler of the 150 hp engine. The engine was essentially the same as the larger 150 hp engine, with the engine code likely being AXG.

Hello Peter,
MKB is AXL. LLK is similar to the 150PS model; however, the turbocharger of the AXL is different.
Part number, and was only installed in the Synchro model (though it might still be a VTG).
Best regards,
Rudi

'You're right, Axl, I knew there was something with the 'A' and 'X'. The loader is definitely a VTG. As I said, this entire engine configuration was only available in the Syncro, and only for a very short time. By the way, Syncro, not...'
