Hey fellow mechanics,
Perhaps this doesn't necessarily belong in this forum, but I'll give it a try anyway...

I have an original NOKIA hands-free car kit (CARK-91) that I'm not using, and I'm missing the instruction manual. I don't really need the entire manual, but I need a description of where the cables (red, blue, black, yellow, etc.) should be connected in the car.
Certainly, one of those is for constant power, ignition, ground, mute (radio), etc.
It would be great if someone could provide me with some information about that.

Unfortunately, you cannot download the user manual from the NOKIA website, and they do not have it available in the NOKIA store either. Placing an order would cost approximately 20€ icon_sad.gif.

Regards,

Eike.

Hello Eike,

I have something like that on my Galaxy, and I even have an 'Installation Guide' right now.
found. Just to let you know: A plug with 5 wires goes into box HFU-2.
red: +Volt
blue: Igniton sense
yellow: Radio mute, connects to ground during a call, can...
Maximum 200 mA.
green: Motor antenna, provides +12V, can handle 1A.
black. 0 V

If that's not enough, email me, and I can also scan the instructions and email them to you.

The microphone is quite insensitive; 50 cm is too far a distance. I recommend mounting it near the sun visor.

By the way, if you suddenly hear the turbocharger making a very loud noise after installation, first check if the radio is turned off. I got quite a fright, but the noise was coming from the speaker!
I was at the workshop this afternoon - they replaced the timing belt. They ended up replacing it twice, and they want to check out the turbocharger next week because it was making a loud noise. (That's how I got here, to this forum.)

Good luck!

Helmut.

Hello Helmut,

I think you heard your alternator, not the turbocharger. Was that a whistling sound coming from the speakers?
I actually experienced something similar when I installed my first amplifier in my car. The solution was to connect the ground wires for the radio and the amplifier to the same point...

Best regards,
David.

Hello Helmut,

Danke für die Infos. Ich frage mich allerdings, ob es wirklich Motorantennen für´s Handy gibt. Na It doesn't matter.
How many pages does the instruction manual have? Does it contain any other important and relevant information?

Regards,

Eike.

Hello Eike,
To my knowledge, there are combination antennas available for radio and mobile phones. The instructions are a very thin leaflet, about the size of an A4 page; I can actually scan the entire thing.

For DocSyndor: Of course, it's the alternator, but the next closest thing isn't immediately obvious (I'm an electrician!).

Best regards,
Helmut.

Hello Helmut,

If you could email me a scan of the instructions, that would be really great.
My email address is: xxx.

Thank you in advance.

Regards,

Eike.

PS: I just read the political discussion. Some time ago, I had a simple idea: We should only pay taxes on the income that you haven't spent by the end of the month! This would surely create a huge demand and bring enormous revenues to the state treasury through VAT, etc. But that doesn't belong here... icon_smile.gif

EDIT 15.1.05: For reasons I cannot disclose, I would like to point out that I unfortunately have no further information about the CARK-91 and therefore cannot send anything by email. Sorry.
