Pump Cable Pin 8: Troubleshooting & Info

Hi!

While I was just looking at my pump cable, I noticed that pin 8 is missing and not present on the connector.
The pin configuration is 1-8 for the 2.5 TDI AAT engine.
Since the cable has a wire that's tapped into the overall wiring harness, I'm wondering what pin 8 is for.

Pin 8 of the 8-pin pump cable is not connected, at least in the case of the 1.9 models.

No, even the schematics with GRA (presumably referring to a specific standard or technology) do not assign a function to pin 8 of the 8-pin connector.

Is pin 8 assigned? Where does the wire leading to the pump side go?

The K.a. wire is definitely tapped below the connector and runs to the pump.
