My friend's BMW 318TDS touring E36 now has...
TD-Powerbox installed, and experienced the increased performance, just like so many others.
It has let the tuning fever be absorbed icon_evil.gif, and he has experienced this extra power.
often and for a long time, I have demanded of him regarding the situation that is extremely critical.
To upgrade the nozzle, considering the box and the associated exhaust temperatures.
(and potentially shorter injection times).
I think that the continuous thermal overload puts more strain on the engine.
Does it cause damage, or are the higher peak pressures the issue?

Regardless, the main thing is that I encountered something during my research.
http://ecat-online.bosch.de/toc/frame1.html
I realized that:

1.) The VW 1.9TDI AFN 81kw, manufactured in 1998, uses injectors that are also typically found in ps-
identical engines are installed.

2.) the nozzles of the BMW 318TDS touring E36 in various hub-
Unevenly sized and power-imbalanced engines are installed.

Can someone explain this to me?
To avoid any potential misinterpretations, I would also appreciate it if you could provide any conclusions you draw.

Best regards.
Peter.

The 16xx cc engines are R4 engines, while the 25xx engines are V6 engines. The 25xx engine, with its power outputs of 105, 96, and 85 kW, has different fuel flow rates, opening pressures, and injection times. That's why it uses the same nozzles.

Of course, that makes sense icon_redface.gif.

1665 / 4 = 416.25
2497 / 6 = 416.16

Okay, so no turbocharger upgrade for the TDS right now. I can't find a more powerful one from Bosch at the moment.
find one with the same displacement, and therefore possibly larger injectors.

Now, a table showing the injection molding pressures and opening pressures for various [items/processes] would be helpful.
Nozzles are quite helpful icon_wink.gif. Perhaps it's possible to use nozzles from other models/brands?!
It would probably end up in something like a butterfly collection icon_wink.gif.

Best regards.
Peter.

PS: Sorry for the rambling and chatter. icon_wink.gif

Please create your own butterfly collection icon_mrgreen.gif.

I'm almost tempted to say: here we go again...
