Hello,

from the section "in the digital world, anything is possible, even a little bit of death":

On my laptop, I have installed, among other things, versions 607.2 and 607.3.

Yesterday, while working on the airbag control unit, I noticed that my German .lbl file was not yet in the label folder for version 607.3. So, I got everything back up to date (I gathered all the labels that had been modified most recently for all the Polo ECUs and copied them into the 6.07.3 folder).

Today, I drove again with the MWB 11 and 39 (self-made MWB) and then I was surprised to find that the data in my label file for the MWB 39 were being ignored icon_eek.gif.
Instead, only the "nominal values" from VAGCOM were displayed there: temperature and 3 values representing quantity (instead of LLT, engine speed, opacity, and injection quantity).

The 607.3 is now completely ignoring the label data for MWB 38 through 40.
It accurately displays all the readings up to 37 and from 125 onwards.

And the best part is:
With the same label file (a copy!), version 607.2 works perfectly, just like version 607.3 did before I organized its label folder.

I don't want to rule out the possibility that an outdated redirection might have also ended up in the 607.3 folder... but could that cause a "selective malfunction" within a label file?

What are the specific file names and control unit part numbers? Perhaps you could post the file sometime so we can take a look at the content.

Probably already sorted out.

I apparently replaced the basic label file 038-906-019.lbl (with the REDIRECT section) in the 607.3 directory with a slightly older, custom-made German .lbl file.
1. Of course, it does not have a REDIRECT section.
2. still didn't include my last MWB 38-40.

The file "038-906-019-130.lbl" was updated in the label folder, but since the "REDIRECT" section was missing in the "038-906-019.lbl" file, VAGCOM naturally didn't know that it should retrieve the data names from the "038-906-019-130.lbl" file.

Therefore, the data names from the already outdated 038-906-019.lbl file (excluding MWB 38-40) were displayed.

I've now temporarily copied the REDIRECT section from the original .lbl file of the 607.2 directory into my 038-906-019.lbl file. I think this will make it work again (I'll be testing it in the next few days).

Okay, so it's not "our" fault. icon_cool.gif

For your information, the files you are currently working on will most likely be deprecated or renamed with the next or subsequent data release, as the "old" redirect method used in these files does not account for or may not be able to accommodate certain aspects. icon_eek.gif

Hm, hopefully we'll still be able to edit the label files ourselves.

If this option were to disappear, I would look quite foolish. icon_confused.gif

Can we continue, because the system currently used for EDC15 engines and English label files doesn't always correctly cover all engine control units, and sometimes incorrect mappings occur.

Otherwise, just send your modified label files to your distributor, and they can include them in their distribution – of course, only if you want to make them available to the public.

That wouldn't benefit the general public much, because their MSG doesn't have my "special additives."
