Hi,

For the 2.5 TDI 163 PS (BDG) engine, the same control units (STGs) are used in the A4, A4 Cabrio, and A6 (4B) models.
In VW, for example, in the 3B Passat as a manual transmission, they don't have a manual transmission icon_wink.gif.
Skoda also has the ...T in the Superb.
The distinction is made based on encoding... (which I found).

Convertible = 07xxx
A4 = 02xxx
A6 = 01xxx
Superb = 04xxx

Can someone determine if different parameter sets are being loaded?
For example, due to a different vehicle weight?

Part number: 8E0 907 401 M (Multi) or 401 T (Switch).

Hello,

Yes, it uses different washing programs with it. The question is, how do they differ? These can be minor things like different CAN messages for specific control units, but they can also involve completely different performance characteristics.

Best regards, Rainer.

I think this will only be possible through appropriate software and the corresponding...
Can KF-Files be reliably determined and are they difficult to measure with standard, 'hobbyist' methods?

Can KF-Files be definitively determined and are they difficult to measure using ordinary "hobbyist" methods?

Yes. Some of the files you mentioned are quite problematic because they contain many different variations. WinOLS can sometimes detect as many as 1200 characteristic maps (though it doesn't detect everything, so it's far from complete). (Of course, individual values, etc., are not included.)
That could be a great research project icon_smile.gif.

And if I may now ask to what extent the aforementioned...
differentiate from the new 997-generation (exchange) data sets.
You'll probably be scratching your head wondering why they are demonstrably more agile.
Would you like me to slowly put it around your neck? icon_wink.gif

*g* Not that. However, as I mentioned, it would be a research project, and unfortunately, I don't have the time for that.

Since the vehicles in question are not really a) suitable for significant modifications and b) often plagued with defects, I've decided to rule them out for myself.

Best regards, Rainer.
