Hello,
I have the following problem with my Golf IV with an ALH engine (90,000 km):
When the engine is cold, it starts perfectly fine. However, if you let the engine run for about 10 minutes and then try to restart it, the engine requires a few more revolutions before it starts.
The difference is very noticeable.
Although the timing belt was recently replaced, it exhibited this behavior even before that.
Can you perhaps help me with something?
Thank you for your help.
P.S. While it doesn't bother me, perhaps this could lead to consequential damages icon_sad.gif.
Regards,
Jürgen.

Hi Jürgen,

Just so you know, mine does that from the factory.
Kompression ignites.

It becomes concerning in my opinion when you have to "orgasm" (presumably referring to sexual activity) for a significantly longer time than 1 second – then something might not be working correctly.

For more information, please read the technical article about glow plug systems and starting problems icon_wink.gif.

due to that.

I can't imagine anything like that happening – except perhaps that the starter motor won't last forever.
