"Hi, maybe someone can help me. I bought an A6 2.0 TDI BRE with a DPF (part number 03G 906 016 GB) about a year ago, with 180,000 km on it. I'm not sure if the DPF has ever been replaced or if the ash mass was reset to zero (it's currently at 52), and according to the ash content, it needs to be replaced soon."

That's why I logged MWB 67 and 68; I'm not sure if the differential pressure is within the correct range or not.

Sure, here's the translation:

"Thanks, Chris."

Hi,

"That's not something I would recommend doing. You want to know if the differential pressure is too high? Then you should also ensure maximum exhaust flow, meaning full throttle and 4000 rpm in a high gear."

Best regards, Rainer.

Does anyone know of a good cleaning agent for rinsing filters, or should you only use water? Does anyone happen to know?

best regards, chris

Cold, clear water. And maybe some longer stretches of highway. No need for speed there, just to warm up.

Okay, thanks, I'll try that, but only when the ash content is at its maximum.

I will let you know if it works out. icon_wink.gif

on Topic:
Has anyone ever had a DPF (Diesel Particulate Filter) cleaned for a VW (Audi, Seat, or Skoda) vehicle?
And perhaps you've had success with it?

Are they technically identical to the PSA parts (e.g., catalytic layer)?

Okay, please provide the German text you would like me to translate into English. I will only provide the translation.

I think that "flushing" actually refers to the Diesel Particulate Filters (DPFs) which are located downstream of the catalytic converter and operate with an additive.

It works there too. I can tell you more about it after the update.

But there is no catalytic coating either.

In additive-free systems, the component is coated with platinum vapor, and I'm not sure what effect that would have on the water.

In the context of BRE, it's a combination of a KATA and a DPI function in one.

"Then it's certainly possible to flush it with water, but I think that will eliminate its catalytic effect. However, it might still be able to burn soot more actively (less passively)."

Today, I had a sick day off work.

Turbidity value of 2.00 is allowed; he had a reading of 0.06. At the last inspection, I believe his turbidity was 0.01.

The filter was flushed about a year ago (40,000 km). icon_smile.gif So it works.

Hi,

Quote:
then it is certainly possible to rinse it with water, but I think that it will no longer have a catalytic effect afterwards
.
Well, water vapor is also a byproduct of fuel combustion, so I think it probably doesn't matter whether the filter gets slightly damp (due to repeated cold starts in winter) or even wetter.
Generally speaking, the catalytic effect is likely to decrease with mileage.

Great!

Best regards, Rainer.

However, Benni also has an additive system.
Newer diesel particulate filters (like those in the 3C and 1K models, etc.) no longer have that feature.

So, either the "additive yes or no" question is irrelevant, or we don't yet have evidence that additive-free DPFs can survive under those conditions.

But it's worth a try, and I agree with you on that.

Hello everyone.

As a newcomer, I'd like to start with a friendly greeting to all of you, hoping that I don't make any mistakes right away.
Since the topic is currently relevant and relates to some issues I'm experiencing, I'll chime in here and try to keep it brief.
"On my Citroen C5, the display shows that the DPF will soon be clogged (110,000 km). A differential pressure error code has also been read."
Of course, Citroen wants to sell me a new one for about €700, specifically a cleaned replacement DPF. Okay. So, I took it to my mechanic, who removed the unit, thoroughly flushed it with water, dried it, and reinstalled it. Everything seemed fine, except that no one performed a reset in the control system. The diagnostic tools from Bosch and my mechanic don't go deep enough into the management system to clear the error, and Citroen refuses to do it because they are likely afraid of being held responsible for any consequential damage.Does anyone have any ideas on how to get rid of this error message, or does anyone know a mechanic who can fix it?

Best regards,
C5Kuhli

Klaro. 3 Händler bis jetzt. Jeder malt dir was anderes auf die Backe, aber zuletzt wollen sie dir alle ihren DPF aufschwatzen bevor sie was resetten. Awful! / Terrible! / Nasty!
Leaving the error message as is would also be an option.
Unfortunately, once this happens, it's no longer possible to determine when the DPF reached its maximum storage capacity. Either the turbo will eventually fail, or the car will switch (usually on vacation icon_sad.gif), and if you're lucky, it will go into "limp mode."
Not ideal... Also, there should always be a solution to every problem! (even without a specialized workshop).

Best regards, C5Kuhli.
