Hello,
Does anyone know how to reset the oil service reminder on a Renault Clio, model year 2005, with a Dci engine and K9K motor? Also, can I use 5W30 longlife oil for this engine?
I need to do the timing belt and service for a friend's car, and I want to find out what type of oil to use and what the recommended service intervals are. Maybe someone knows. Thanks.

Google knows the answer:
Quote: | if you still have the small button on the round instruments:
Press the BC button repeatedly until "Service" is displayed ("----" or "Maintenance due soon" or "Maintenance required"). Then, press the small button on the instrument cluster continuously until it starts to blink (do not stop pressing!). Finally, "30000" should reappear.
If you no longer want the small display, still cycle through the options until you reach the "service" display in the onboard computer (BC), and then press the BC button as described above on the wiper stalk. |

It's not about the viscosity, but about the specific standards. You can find these in the user manual, and possibly also on a sticker somewhere on the vehicle. Kundenservice bedeutet bei Audi, die Kunden so schnell über den Tisch zu ziehen, daß sie die Reibungswärme als Nestwärme empfinden!

Hi,
The vehicle is a CLIO II, BB07, 1.5 dci with a 48 kW engine. I performed an oil change using 5W30 oil, which is approved by Renault. However, the timing belt replacement was a complicated process for this model. It's much easier to perform the same job on VAG vehicles (no fixed blocking of the crankshaft is possible, you can only rely on the pin).

To my knowledge, the Clio 2 does not have a service interval display. If the service light is on, it indicates an error and does not necessarily mean that a service (inspection) is due.
You can use regular 5W-40 or even 10W-40 oil in this car. I used the same type before. A4 Avant 2,5 tdi 110kw; AFB; BJ2000

Hello,
You are right. The Clio II does not have an interval display in the instrument cluster. You have to rely on the mileage display. That's how it used to be (like with the note in the engine compartment). The "SERV" light in the instrument cluster is a warning light in the vehicle. As you already mentioned, there is a fault in the system if this light is on. I have learned that in the meantime.
