Tensioner rollers, 1.9 TDI - differences

Hi.

There are actually two different types of tensioner pulleys for many 1.9 TDI engines, specifically the 1Z and AFN models. Once with the longer metal piece on the side (e.g., eBay auction 140381007371), and once with the smaller "nose" (e.g., eBay auction 380211352779).

What are the differences in their use, and can both be combined with different engines? Or do different timing belt covers or similar components need to be installed?

Check beforehand which motor is installed in your vehicle! The difference is the mudguard.
