Hello,
I'm slowly starting to need replacements for my BLB injectors, which are part number 03G 130 073 G.
I can't find them anywhere.
Can I also install other diesel particulate filters (DPFs) from other 2.0 TDI engines, and what are the differences?
For example, if I were to get the 038 130 73 BJ model, would I be able to find it everywhere?
Thank you and greetings.
Toto.

(1) There is a missing digit in the third block of the 038 phone number.
(2) You want to replace 03G PD injectors with 038 (presumably) VP injectors???
Please double-check the numbers carefully.

Sorry, the number is 038 130 073, BJ.
Both are PDE injectors, one from an A6 2.0 TDI and the other from an A4 2.0 TDI, both with 103 kW.

From the gut.
These are PPD and mPD - so nothing fits.

Okay, then just try it.
I still say that it's not going to work.
03G and 038 sound too different.
On the other hand, the BRT models have a 03G engine control unit (ECU) instead of a 038.

Hello,
There are 103kW PD-TDIs with a 2-valve cylinder head and with a 4-valve cylinder head.
The components used in the 2V PD cylinder head are different from those used in the 4V PD cylinder head, and in the 4V PD cylinder heads, there is a further distinction between those using a solenoid valve from Bosch and those using a piezo actuator from Siemens.
The part numbers you mentioned are NOT interchangeable because one is for a PD unit for the 2V cylinder head, and the other is for the 4V cylinder head.
Without insider knowledge, such as comparing control characteristics in the dataset or other part-specific properties, such an action becomes an expensive guessing game, aside from the fact that it might not physically fit.
Therefore, it is best to install PD elements with the same part number. If using a replacement part, it should have your installed number with an 'X' appended, such as 03G 130 073 GX.
Best regards, Rainer.

Let me jump right in with a question:
Will the PDE (Pre-Detonation Chamber) of the 2V 2.0PD also be sealed against the combustion chamber via a cone (like the 4V), or "classically" like on the 1.9 engines with a copper sealing ring? I haven't disassembled a 2.0 2V engine yet . selber schrauben - statt Werkstattpfusch

Since the gasket set for the 1.9 2V mPD BLS and the 2.0 2V mPD BMP engines is the same, but different from the one for the 2.0 4V PPD BMR engine, I suspect the difference lies between "mPD" and "PPD".

Hello,
VAG 2V 2.0 TDI PD = Seal with copper gasket; 4V 2.0 TDI PD = Seal with conical insert.
Best regards, Rainer.
