Here's an adapter that was supposedly described as working with ELV systems, and it's working, but not very well.
I'm just wondering if it's normal for the program to sometimes take 30 seconds to 1 minute, and even require up to 4 attempts, to establish communication with a single control unit, and whether this is different with the adapters being used here.
I've already tried out quite a few cars, and the worst (longest) repair times are for transmissions and ABS control units, both in Golf 3, Golf 4, and Passat 3B models!
If someone could tell me what settings they adjusted in the options, that might help, or is this long 'searching' process considered normal?
The best VAG-Com adapter I know.
is by Alex Weiss --> >HERE<
galvanically isolated and sufficiently fast ...
(and regardless of the laptop's interface voltage).
Tip: You can also contact the author and politely inquire whether they currently have any adapters in stock!
(Because: Building things yourself with SMD components is not for everyone ).
