Enjoy your meal.

I'd like to briefly introduce myself.
I am 30 years old, male, and I am from Braunschweig.

Last Friday, I bought my new "daily driver" car.
It's a 1995 Volkswagen Golf with a 1.9 TDi 1Z engine.
The mileage is currently unknown (the odometer is defective), but based on the overall condition of the car and the older notes stuck inside, I would estimate the mileage to be around 135,000 kilometers.

There's a sticker in the A-pillar that shows the mileage from 2006, indicating it had only 80,000 km on it at that time.
Inside the engine compartment, there's a sticker indicating the timing belt replacement. It was changed in 2011 at 100,000 km (approximately 62,000 miles).

And in the letter, only the previous owner is listed, so I am the second owner.
The vehicle was manufactured in 1929, so one can roughly estimate its mileage and also take into account the wear and tear on the body.
The car has a few scratches and dents all over, but I don't mind.

"Until last Saturday, I still owned a 1997 BMW 540i with an LPG system. In addition, I also own a 2003 TT Quattro." The BMW became too expensive to maintain, and I don't need a second "economy car" on top of my TT.

In 2004, I already had a 1.9 TDi AFN engine in my Audi A4.
Back then, that particular locomotive had already run 330,000 kilometers, and I remembered that well, so I decided to look for one of the first 1.9 TDI models from the VAG group.
One that is economical, easily repairable (which the BMW was not), and where spare parts are still readily available and affordable.

It's certainly quite a downgrade, going from a 4.4 V8 with 286 horsepower and 420 Nm of torque, and a smooth running engine with all sorts of fancy features, back to a harsh-running 1.9 TDi icon_lol.gif.
But we are adaptable, aren't we?

Best regards, Garrit.
