Skoda Octavia 1Z: Reset Service Light

First of all, a big thank you to Rainer for his angelic patience with me .

Now, regarding my "problem":
I had an Octavia 1Z in for maintenance. I took the opportunity and wanted to "play around" with VCDS a little. Reading the data was no problem, and I understood how to use it to some extent.

Then I wanted to reset the service. This didn't work with the automatic function. I've attached the log file. I then used our AVL tester to reset the service because I wasn't sure where I needed to go to provide it with the correct values.

Do you have any advice for me?

The error was: automatic reset not possible. Please reset manually. (Meaning conveyed.)

No, I haven't tried that. I downloaded a new data update today using the VCDS update search. Let's see if it works when a newer model becomes available.
I suspect it's related to the newer service events.

Unfortunately, the script for resetting the service interval, which is included in the current version of VCDS 17.1.3.0, does not work on my Octavia 1Z either.

Therefore, I manually reset the settings in the instrument cluster menu and then it displayed 372 days or 15,000 km until the next service.
Resetting via VCDS (select control unit 17, then adaptation 10).
IDE00342-WIV: Resetting the WIV: The reset did not result in any changes.
The relevant values:
IDE00512-WIV: Minimum Km for Performance/Inspection.
IDE00513-WIV: Maximum value for Km/inspection interval.
IDE00514-WIV: Maximum value for the time interval between inspections.
were grayed out and "not functional."

Switching to SIA or WIV: IDE00492-MAS02003-WIV: Coding for maintenance interval extension status. WIV or SIA = SIA or WIV enabled.
and switching between SIA and WIV: IDE00492-MAS02006-WIV: Coding for maintenance interval extension - selection of WIV or SIA = WIV.
It also didn't achieve anything.
I noticed that the oil quality automatically resets to "bad" after a reset: IDE00492-MAS02012-WIV: Coding for maintenance interval extension - oil quality = bad.

The solution is simple:
1. Reset (IDE00342) or directly via the control panel interface.
2. Change the oil quality to "good" (IDE00492). Of course, only if "good" VW 507.00 oil has been filled... )
The values will then be automatically generated.
IDE00512-WIV: Minimum Km for performance/inspection = 15000 km.
IDE00513-WIV: Maximum mileage for maintenance/inspection = 30,000 km.
IDE00514-WIV: Maximum value for the time between inspections = 744d.

Possibly add more...
IDE03351-FIX: Distance traveled since the last maintenance inspection based on mileage: 0 km.
IDE03352-FIX: Time since last time-dependent inspection: 0 days.

In the instrument cluster menu, the value "---" appears (for the first few hundred kilometers) for both the time and distance until the next service.

I'm also having the same problem; I can't reset it using the reset button. I have the latest software installed.
I've already tried it on various models, such as the Golf 7, Tiguan, or Audi A6 4F... Is this an internal error?

No, it's not really a problem. There are instructions on what to do in the popup and in the details section above in this topic; it's very simple.

And if you're stuck, as a customer, you can always post a Screenshot here.

It's good that there's another way to reset the interval.
But what's the point of having the button if it doesn't even work?!
It would actually make things even easier.

You need to ask Ross-Tech that.
Of course, there will always be new AI models, and the program can't know that in advance.
