"Hello, I drive a Vectra C 1.9 CDTI with an automatic transmission, with 173,000 km on the clock. Quite a few things have been replaced in recent years. A few days ago, the car stalled at a crossroads. It wouldn't start, the starter motor didn't engage, and almost all the warning lights were on. I had to have it towed to a workshop. The next day, I was told it was running again, and it was a blown fuse F1, which controls the engine management and transmission. It's running for now, and they gave me three more of the 20-amp fuses to put in the ashtray in case it happens again. I picked up the car, and everything seemed fine. Later that evening, I drove to the store, parked the car, and then tried to start it. It barely started, so I turned it off, replaced the fuse, and drove home. I checked everything at home for loose connections, cables, and I checked the grounding, but I didn't find anything. The workshop suggested that if it happens again, I should make an appointment and leave the car there for a few days so they can thoroughly check and measure everything. They said they would need to consult the wiring diagrams to see what everything is connected to on fuse F1 and then check the wiring harnesses and components accordingly. Hmmm, this is probably going to be as expensive as buying an old car with two years of MOT left. I suspect a relay in the fuse box. What do you think?"
best, tom

Hi Tomme!

The community section is EXCLUSIVELY intended for the introduction of (new) users.
Oh, wonder, this is already evident from the title of the forum section icon_wink.gif.

Technical questions should be asked in the appropriate section. However, diagnoses and problems that necessarily require specific equipment are exclusively available to RKS customers.

Welcome anyway!

Best regards from Munich!

PS: Please note the terms of service, so you don't unintentionally become unpopular right away!! icon_smile_thumb_up.gif
