Hello everyone,

I bought a used, complete ALH engine, which I will be rebuilding for a Caddy 14d.
Unfortunately, I'm finding several inconsistencies with the engine - at a price of 200€, one shouldn't be surprised. I hope that at least the lever mechanism is in good condition.

The screws on the intake manifold were loose, and so was the hose on the intake side of the turbo. This has caused the back of the engine to become heavily oiled.

Today, I disassembled the engine further, and there was also oil everywhere under the timing belt cover. On the entire surface.

Do you have any idea where it's coming from? Since it's all the way up and quite evenly distributed, I don't think it's the crankshaft seal. What do you think?

I don't work on TDI engines every day, but on an ALH engine that I had a few years ago, everything was completely dry during the 180,000 km timing belt replacement.

If this question is too simple for the forum, here is another one:
Which WASTEGATE charger would you recommend for a 1.9 TDI for a boost pressure of 1.5-1.7 bar up to approximately 4,200 rpm?

Thank you and best regards.
Bernd

Hi

Quote:

Absolut: Den Turbolader vom AGR Motor.
