Hello there,

I'm new to the forum and just experimenting a bit with VCDS.

Since I own a T5 model from 2015, the "Measurement Block" function is no longer available.
There, for example, at the measurement block for the boost pressure sensor (G31), it was clearly visible that this sensor was being used for data analysis.

Does this exact designation (G31) appear to be missing under the "Advanced Measurement Data" section?

I read something about label files in the manual, though. But how and where should one load them, or are they only intended for the function of a measurement block?

Best regards, Torsten.

Hello,

The specific control unit determines which measurement values are available (e.g., standard, extended, etc.).
"All newer engine control units (ECUs) only offer 'extended measurement values'." In the very long list of available measurements, you can search by text. For example, you can enter terms like "pressure" or "boost pressure," and the measurements that match the search term will be displayed.

You can also save a selection you've made for future use.

Hello and thank you for the reply. I've already seen the list and have also compiled and saved my own selections. My question is about the additional designations like (G31) and (G447), as is the case with the measuring blocks. This allows you to explicitly select the corresponding donor.

Best regards, Torsten.

You can enter anything as a search term, including donor numbers.
The question is whether these always appear before the measurement value.

Unfortunately, no... The supplement is not included.

Does anyone know which extended measurement parameters need to be selected to display the data from the G584 potentiometer?

Best regards, Torsten.

Hi,
G584, I'm sorry, is a string of characters for those not in the know. What does the donor do, or what should they do?

Hi, this is the potentiometer for the wastegate valve of the high-pressure turbocharger from the CFCA engine. This allows the MSG to determine the position of the control valve and thus regulate the boost pressure.

So, it's about the bi-turbocharger and the control valve for the exhaust gas flow from the low-pressure section to the high-pressure section. Accordingly, you need to use a bit of imagination and search for the appropriate terms in the measurement data (e.g., "high-pressure turbocharger"). Check valve...

Yes, I did that too... the selected values are:

Boost pressure control: 10.00%.
Boost pressure sensor: Feedback: 0.00%. Engine off.

Engine started, both at 0.00% and that's even under full load...

For Biturbo models, the values should come from sensor G584, while for single-turbo models, they should come from sensor G581.

It would be interesting to see what values other VCDS users are getting.

Hello Mecki,

I have found that not all UDS measurement channels contain meaningful measurement values.
Sometimes, the same value can be found elsewhere, possibly expressed with a different unit.

Okay, let's keep searching. I don't own a Biturbo myself, so unfortunately, I can't check.

Best regards, Rainer.
PS: Is VCDS up to date? Okay, hier ist die Übersetzung:

"The German version is 21.3!"
