Good day.
We are currently converting an older Audi A4 B6, model year 2004, with a 2.5 TDI engine to a 3.0 TDI engine, model year 2007.
The engine is running smoothly so far, and the mechanical components seem to be in good condition. However, we still have the issue that the ABS is currently not working. The vehicle currently has an ABS 5.7 module installed. The donor vehicle for the engine, an A4 B7, already has an ABS 8.0 module. I've often read online that people who perform this conversion often upgrade to the newer ABS module and rewire the connector accordingly, or retrofit the missing sensors for the ABS 8.0. This allows the EDC 16 to work perfectly with it. Now, we have considered whether the ABS 5.7 could theoretically communicate with the EDC 16.
Perhaps someone here has experience with similar modifications and can share some information about it.
