Disconnect the control unit

I need to disconnect a 121-pin connector from the control unit (located under the windshield, in the center) for an equipment upgrade. What are the potential consequences of disconnecting this connection (e.g., errors, data loss, etc.)? Do I need to disconnect the battery?

If the plug is secured by plastic sliding rods, be careful not to break anything off (do not apply force).
Apart from any potential outbursts or the issue mentioned above, nothing much should happen if you disconnect the engine control unit (I assume that's what you've done).

However, when working on electrical components, it's always a good idea to disconnect the battery (and remember the radio code).

I've already noticed that the connector seems to be locked in place with some kind of 20-point locking mechanism. Is there any clever trick to get it open?

When assembling, use patience and avoid applying excessive force.

It worked, I successfully identified the pins for the GRA cable, and everything is still .
