Hello everyone, this is my first time here, and I see (or read) that you all seem to know a lot. So, here's my question!

Does anyone know how to bypass the electronic speed limiter on the new T5 (174 hp)? It currently limits the speed to 195 km/h and 3200 rpm. Both Volkswagen and the commercial vehicle service center in Hanover have confirmed that it can be done with a VAS 5051 device, but they won't tell me how... those party poopers. The engine and transmission are supposedly capable of handling higher speeds, but the brakes might not be.
Please do not make any technical changes; it should be possible to complete the testing with just a few clicks.
Happy New Year!
El Mariachi.

To be honest, even if I knew, I wouldn't tell you.

Exactly BECAUSE the braking system can't handle it without modifications...

and with a top speed of 195, the T5 is fast enough, by God...

Hi,

Perhaps you should ask the tuner who modified the braking system; they should know about this.

Best regards,

January.

Approximately 50% of this forum consists of discussions about performance enhancements, while the other 50% features tips and tricks from which I can still learn something.
Why am I immediately being insulted for asking a simple question?
The 111kW T4 can already achieve a speed of 195 km/h without a chip tuning module, and it's even faster with one. This is quite common nowadays. I am not a reckless driver; in fact, I have been driving accident-free for 15 years, and that's without any modifications.
Back to the point!
'When I said 'the brakes are wearing down quickly,' I didn't mean they were overheating or failing. The brake pads just wear out faster than usual. On a 111 kW engine that does a lot of driving on rails, the pads typically last for a maximum of 40,000 km. For an open-top T5, I would estimate around 20,000 km.'
Please stop with the lectures; I don't own a T5 and won't be able to afford one anytime soon. I just want to know!

If VW says it can be done without any problems, what's stopping you? Go to them and have them remove the lock.

Then the van will definitely achieve the speed you're hoping for, and you won't have to crawl along the highway at speeds below 200 km/h anymore!

Great deduction! You should publish this. Have you already told the people at Volkswagen about it?
