Passat PD, manufactured in 1999 (85kW, approx. 85,000 km), has difficulty starting

... for the past 3 days, the engine has only started after 4-6 seconds of cranking. The problem is not temperature-dependent (neither the outside temperature nor the engine temperature). Immediately after starting, there is NO 'excessive' exhaust smoke visible. It looks like (probably) a fuel delivery system???

The performance is normal.

Does anyone have any ideas?

Hello, do you have the ability to read the error codes?
Most likely, either the camshaft position sensor or the wiring to it is faulty.
