ASZ with engine control unit coding 00005 !?

I just tried using the search function, but I only found the codes 00001 or 00002 (for manual transmission or automatic transmission, respectively) when searching for encoding information.

My engine is coded with 00005 .

Part number: 038 906 019 LA
next window: 0400 SG 5405
Software code: 00005
Under "Extras," you'll find the FIN (Vehicle Identification Number), and in the same window, there's another long number that I haven't been able to identify yet.

Using the VAGCOM "coding" function, I'm accessing the programmed value of 00005.

Does anyone know what's behind this, and whether there are also "installable" software programs hidden behind the codes 00001 to 00004?

Can I temporarily reprogram this part (out of curiosity) without risking any permanent issues, even after reverting it back to the original value of 00005?

Speculation mode on: Is there a "break-in" program that switches to normal or full power at a certain mileage (xy km)? There have been occasional reports of sudden power increases. Speculation mode off.
It was just my first thought.

Do you actually ever drive without using VAGCOM?
It's good that we have you; I don't think even at a mass-market company would they take it this seriously.

I also have "00005" as the encoding for my ASV, and the speculations in the relevant thread went nowhere, and you also participated in those speculations.

I haven't come any further than I did back then, but I'm glad that I'm not the only one who feels that way.

"Next time I connect the VAGCOM (it's not easy because of the power supply, but I'll try to do it in the next few days), I'll pay attention to the coding. That should clarify the issue with the initial setup." The engine, which had approximately 5000 km on it when I got it, now has 38000 km, and the break-in period is long over.

Well, there it is – the solution!

I am also a non-smoker, and I use the ashtray as a storage space for small items. So, 00005 is exactly that: the non-smoker code for ashtrays that are used as storage for small items.

Okay, I'll try to find some time in the next few days to check the readings. Then we'll at least know if there's anything to the idea of changing the input, even though I personally don't believe it – I think it will still show a value of 00005.

Is there anything else I should check in the ASV (Auxiliary System Vehicle) in this context (since the battery isn't sufficient for driving, and the car's power supply still can't be used while the engine is running)?

@Ulf: I wasn't really serious about the search, hence the smiley. I knew I had to search for "00005" and Author=Jan6K because I remembered that I had posted it before. Therefore, it's likely that very few people would have actually been able to find it.
