'I received my Altea 1.9 TDI Stylance earlier this week (German-made car, not an EU vehicle). I've noticed that, contrary to what's stated in the manual, there is apparently no GRA control light (on the dashboard). The GRA system itself works perfectly fine. My dealer is equally puzzled; it's the same on their demo car. The light doesn't even illuminate briefly along with the other warning lights when the engine is started, so either it doesn't exist or it's defective. Has anyone had any experience with this? Does Seat simply omit the lamp?'

Hi,

There's also no complaint filed regarding the Ibiza incident from 2001 involving GRA. Search here in the forum; a similar topic has already been discussed before.

The GRA indicator is essentially useless because it only shows the switch position, not whether the GRA has been deactivated via the clutch or brake. For example, I always leave the switch in the "on" position and deactivate it using either the brake or clutch, then reactivate it with the set or resume button. Therefore, the indicator light would always be on, making it completely useless, or it would just be blinding in the dark.

Best regards,

January.

... and that's how it is.
You can't remove the lamp either, because otherwise an error will be stored in the control unit.
Even if someone were to accuse me of being obligated to buy a SEAT vehicle, I would fully support such an initiative.

"That's definitely an LED... can't we just replace it with regular diodes in a way that the device doesn't notice?"

Unfortunately, it's not an LED... it's a simple incandescent bulb... that has even broken before icon_evil.gif.
There should be models available that have an LED there.

The 2001 company newsletter features a GRA lamp.

That's definitely an LED; I haven't seen any cars with regular light bulbs in years.
