Hello.
I need your help and opinion.
My car (Audi A4 B5 1.9 TDI PD with 85 kW, first registration: 11/2000, 90,000 km).
AllIt's okay.
It runs well above 2400 RPM! The top speed of 210 km/h with 235 tires is probably okay! The engine has been moderately chipped. It hardly rusts at all!
I've been browsing the forum a bit, and I've often read about the VTG adjustment! My dealer supposedly checked this as well, and he said it might be the reason. So, install a replacement charger! 1000 Euros!!! icon_eek.gif
I don't really like that! What do you think, is that really the VTG adjustment?
Can I repair anything myself?
Apparently, it's no longer possible to have the turbocharger repaired, as Garrett no longer supplies spare parts! (I read this on the Schlüter website).
What should I do? Does anyone have a tip for me? icon_sad.gif

You would really help me.
Thank you in advance.
Best regards,
schmitty

Have you ever tested the boost pressure?

It's possible that the VTG (vehicle traction generator) won't be pulled to its limit.
There are several possible causes. But first, check if the boost pressure is fully engaged from around 1900 rpm. In my opinion, you might be able to hear when it kicks in by listening to the turbocharger's speed.
Please check this!

Hello.
Thanks for the information! I'll measure the compression pressure, or have it measured.
Hab da aber noch mal ne Frage an alle die auch den gleichen Motor fahren (1,9TD! PD with 85 kW)
If you fully accelerate in 3rd gear at, for example, 2000 RPM, does your car immediately start accelerating, or does the acceleration increase as the RPMs rise?
Mine accelerates, but the noticeable acceleration is greatest between 2600 and 2800 RPM. Below 2200 RPM, it feels like my old Golf with only 54 horsepower.

I actually suspected that I might be imagining things. I don't have the opportunity to drive a comparable car! However, I occasionally drive a Touran with the 100 hp PD engine, and it starts to accelerate around 1500 rpm. But above 3000 rpm, it doesn't have any more power.

The peak torque of my car is specified at 1900 RPM, so shouldn't I also feel the greatest acceleration boost at that point?

If any of you can help me, that would be great!

Thank you and best regards.

Hello.
Error found!
The vacuum hose connected to the VTG pressure sensor had a small hole!
Hose replaced, everything is okay!
Und mein Händler wollte den Turbol. tauschen! Wow!

Thank you again for your help.

IsIs that normal?

Best regards,
Schmitty.

Hello Schmitty,

Slight oil contamination is normal.

Regarding your comment about no longer being able to...
could be repaired, as Garrett has discontinued the supply of spare parts.
'I would have. You should visit the Schlütter homepage at www.turbolader.com.'
watch it again - they have a flow bench and they claim...
to be certified by Garrett!
