Unfortunately, I can't offer any informed insights regarding the regulatory aspects. However, if needed, I have new Garrett 434855-0001 and 434855-0015 units available here, both with approximately 75 mm diameter and a 60 mm membrane.
and approximately a 34 mm M6 screw pitch.
I also think that the slightly slower pressure build-up is compensated for by more precise regulation and better overcoming of resistances.
