Hello,
Am I correct in understanding that if I keep the load below 50%, the clutch should last?
As far as I understand it, the clutches don't fail due to high rotational speed, but rather because of the numerous "misfires" that occur with each ignition. The lower the engine speed (DZ), the worse the "misfires," because the inertia caused by the engine speed hasn't yet smoothed them out enough.
It should have a similar effect to trying to drive at walking speed in the fifth gear. This jerking motion (though not as extreme) will damage the clutch.
Regards,
Hopel.

This modification is one of the reasons why manual transmissions have had a dual-mass flywheel since the AFN engine.
You can hear the knocking sound every time it starts.
Okay, please provide the German text you would like me to translate into English. I will only provide the translation. Transparency, Teamwork
... there was another T.
I don't know what the f*ck it was.

Here's the translation:
"My understanding is that the driven pulley (EMS) incorporates a mechanism to dampen torsional vibrations somewhat. These four springs are moved more than usual when the speed decreases under load. There's a natural resonant frequency that needs to be avoided. In an extreme case, they could lock up, but I don't think this is likely given the low load. It also depends on how stiff the subsequent transmission is designed, or whether it's coupled with pulleys."
ZMS is certainly easier to implement in this case, but whether it will hold up under critical resonance conditions needs to be tested. Gruß, der Teileklaus

Hello,
Thanks for all the information so far.
The entire project has been postponed for the time being due to a severe lack of time.

Hello!
I just happened to read this a moment ago.
I had similar thoughts a few years ago. The topic was combined heat and power (CHP).
When I asked about this in another forum, I was strongly advised against it.
A car engine is typically designed to last for a maximum of 5000 operating hours, especially when it's brand new.
If I calculate based on driving 300,000 km at an assumed speed of 80 km/h, that would be 3750 hours.
If I were to assume that the engine reaches 5000 hours due to issues like failed cold starts, then a brand new engine would be completely worn out after just over half a year of continuous operation.
Things look quite different when it comes to used engines.
I was advised back then to use a smaller engine specifically built for that purpose.
There are some slow-running models with approximately 8 kW of power that last longer and operate effectively at that power level. Grüße, Steffen!

Have you ever thought about a Royal Enfield diesel engine or a vibrating motor? Gruß, der Teileklaus

Hello!
I've done a lot of thinking, calculations, and research online.
It appears this is about combined heat and power (CHP).
That's a worthwhile initiative, and it is also supported by the government.
So, you choose the motor based on the amount of heat you typically need, for example, to heat a house. However, according to my calculations, there will always be a significant amount of electricity left over.
How can one consume a constant 10 kW of power?
If you generate 10 kW of electricity, you can potentially recover approximately 20 kW of usable heat energy, which is enough to provide heating for a large house even in winter.
So, the engine should be selected in such a way that it provides the average amount of thermal energy required for constant operation, and the "excess" electricity is fed into the public power grid at a subsidized feed-in tariff.
That's the way it should be; it makes economic and ecological sense, and heating oil can also be used for that purpose.
It also makes financial sense; I've done the calculations.
However, if you need a new engine every year, or constantly have repairs to deal with, the economics no longer add up.
And I've decided to put this topic aside (for now) because:
It only makes financial sense if you receive the increased feed-in tariff for the "sold" electricity.
And with a homemade system, the energy provider will never allow you to feed electricity back into the grid, which is understandable. Grüße, Steffen!

Sinnvoll je nach Projekt schon, aber staatliche Förderung ohne Schutzgeldzahlungen für Klopapiers in Deutschland? SI'm not sure about that...
If funding is planned, first do some legal research to make sure everything is compliant.
I wouldn't have been able to simply build a pellet stove myself for heating purposes back in 2000, and I would have had to rely on "certified" products.

There's one called "DACHS" that is approved, but you'll have to calculate yourself whether it's worth it.
However, ecological aspects do not always have to be factored in .
It would be nice, and I wish you that. Gruß, der Teileklaus

Hello!
Yes, that's right, the Badger was also recommended to me. "The Badger earns its keep."
But if the oil price fluctuates wildly again, then the calculations no longer add up. Grüße, Steffen!

I was thinking about a similar used engine for the "Dachs" project around the same time you were.
I also heard about someone who sold the badger again because it was uneconomical to repair. Gruß, der Teileklaus
