Here are the pictures; from the inside, the relays didn't appear obviously damaged. What I, as a non-expert, observed is that there were discolorations on the contact surfaces of the switches within the relays. I don't know if this is still within the normal range; you can probably assess that better .

We are now talking about 475,000 km that the relays have traveled while performing their function.

Probably discoloration due to heating caused by increased resistance at the switching contacts...

Is this something that can be considered normal wear and tear due to high mileage? Or should we continue to investigate the underlying cause?

I actually got a new VDO pre-lift pump, and I believe the blue relay 202 is responsible for controlling the pump.

I have the feeling that it's starting to vibrate again when it's supposed to be idle (not the usual cut-outs, but a general vibration when idle, which was much better after replacing the two relays). Could it be that the old pre-pump is starting to damage the new relay and its contacts again?

Hi, due to the low cost of the relay, I would only start troubleshooting and measuring the current flow and checking if the relay might be overloaded if the problem recurs.
