Merry Christmas (belatedly).

Okay, let me tell you about my test drive today:

-280 km (A7 + A44 from Bad Kissingen to Bielefeld, including all the inclines on the A7).
-only AB
- Constantly at 150 (with GRA), but only occasionally reaching 130 on construction sites.

Consumption: 6.5 liters.

-Car: G3 AHU 66kw - 2-door, no central locking, no electric front windows (so, 'Ulf Style' icon_lol.gif), full tank (54 liters), one person, 2 or 3 times 10 cent tolls, defective AGR valve.
Outside temperature: 2.5 degrees.

Best regards.

Capernaum.

Here are my experiences:

Golf 4, 85 kW (AJM engine), (according to the registration document, 1380 kg): On average, at 120 km/h on the highway, it consumes approximately 5.5 liters.
On vacation (2 people with a lot of luggage): 500 km in Germany at approximately 160-180 km/h + 500 km at approximately 130 km/h + 150 km on country roads: 6 liters.

But it can also be done differently:

Corrado 1.8 20VT (approx. 1100kg according to the registration document), 110kW AWU engine, chipped to approximately 135kW and 305 Nm: On the highway between 180-230 km/h: 16 liters per 100 km... On average, including city/country roads/highway: 10 liters per 100 km.

Best regards,

Post29-12-2003, 12:58    Subject: Bora Hob Verbrauch: Strom und Gas sparen Quote

My Bora has now been driven for over 11,000 km.
Always approved between 6.2 and 7.5 liters.

Typical routes include:
Daily commute: 20 minutes each way to and from work (my girlfriend).
Highway weekend: driving straight ahead, maintaining a speed of 130-160 km/h, or whatever speed is comfortable.

Driving style: Not particularly focused on fuel consumption, but also not excessively wasteful.
Deliberately pressing the gas and brake pedals at the same time.

Unfortunately, I only received the car with an engine size of less than 6.5 liters in the fall (and without air conditioning).

Summer vacation trip over mountain passes in July: still achieving 6.8 liters per 100 kilometers.

I would have expected to use, on average, 0.5 liters less diesel.
and only costs 70 euros per year, which is why...
No real reason to be truly dissatisfied, just in comparison to others.
My car seems to be more of a gas guzzler than a typical TDI.

P.S.: The LMM (lambda oxygen sensor) was faulty, but the car has been running smoothly again since it was replaced (March 11th).
However, it had no impact on consumption.

best regards
herwig

AUDI A4 AVANT 1.9TDI AFN, 5-speed manual, unladen weight according to registration document: 1460kg!

Fuel consumption (series condition): 4.2 liters per 100 km at 120 km/h on the highway, with tires size 195/65 R 15.

Chip-tuned, 1100km in Denmark (speed limit) with 225/40 R18 tires resulted in 5.3 liters!

Hamm (North Rhine-Westphalia) - Heide (Schleswig-Holstein): 425 km in 2 hours and 45 minutes, with a fuel consumption of 8.2 liters per 100 km, also using tires of size 225/40 R 18.

However, with my sporty driving style on the highway, I average 6.9 liters per 100 kilometers!

Regards,

Manuel.

My Golf3 during an extreme fuel consumption test in September 2002:
Approximately 270 km from Freiberg to the city center of Berlin.
On average, on the A13, the speed is approximately 110-120 km/h, and I was only stopped by the highway police once icon_lol.gif.
Perfect traffic, no congestion.

4.3 liters per 100 kilometers! icon_cool.gif

My friend was driving ahead in his identical (but chip-tuned) TDI, with his surfboard on the roof...

3.9 liters per 100km!!! I was really surprised!

We also didn't tailgate trucks.

Passat 3B Variant from '98 with AFN engine:

The mileage was approximately 40,000 km: 450 km on the highway (Kerken-Limburg and back) with a GRA (presumably referring to a specific driving mode or setting) at 120 km/h, plus some country roads and city driving, resulting in a fuel consumption of 5.7 liters. This was the minimum consumption achieved.

Mileage: 155,000 km. In the summer, with the air conditioning on, alloy wheels (225 size), and the trunk full of tools, I get 6.7-6.8 liters per 100 km. (approximately 70% rural roads and 30% city driving).

Mileage: 155,000 km. Currently equipped with steel rims and winter tires. With the climate control on 'Econ' and the trunk empty, I recently achieved a fuel consumption of 6.05 liters. (approximately 70% rural roads and 30% city driving).

The maximum fuel consumption was approximately 7.3 liters after about 700 km. However, we then drove as quickly as possible from Galgweis to Kerken. According to the navigation system, the average speed was 138 km/h. This was only possible because it was the second day of Christmas in 2002. We only saw three cars during the first 200 km...

All the information has been calculated, but unfortunately, I don't have MFA. icon_sad.gif

best regards
Ronny.

hi haggis.dhi

"Are you really saying what you're writing? 3.9 liters on average with an average speed of 120 km/h, including city driving? And with a surfboard on the roof? That's impressive; I doubt anyone else can match that. Even without the surfboard, mine probably gets around 5 liters at 120 km/h, and definitely more with the surfboard. Oh well, I also have a Golf IV, maybe that's the reason (?!)."

Hello everyone.

My Passat Variant AJM with a PSI tuning box (always enabled) has now reached 100,000 km, and with mostly spirited driving, I'm getting between 6.8 and 7.5 liters per 100 km.
The car is almost always occupied by four people: two adults and two children, with things like car seats and strollers.
Mostly, the rides were through villages, covering about 30 km, or sometimes just for errands like grocery shopping.
Normally, at a speed of 2 km/h, the engine speed is between 1500 and 3000 RPM.

For longer stretches of highway (220 km), the fuel consumption is between 6.8 and 8.0 liters. The speed ranges from 150 km/h to the maximum speed of approximately 210 km/h.

According to the advertisement (MFA), I have also experienced fuel consumption of 4.7 liters (with a tank capacity of 5.00 liters) during quiet Sunday trips with family.
After driving over 100,000 km, I've noticed that the fuel consumption display shows approximately 7-10% less than the actual consumption (I calculate this with each refueling).

I think the power consumption is generally acceptable, considering the performance.
My brother-in-law has an A4 with a 1.8-liter turbocharged gasoline engine producing 150 horsepower, and even with the same driving style, it's impossible to get the fuel consumption below 10 liters.

My fuel consumption was 3.6 liters!

I drove 340 km on country roads, maintaining a constant speed of 90 km/h in 5th gear, with very little acceleration and only a few stops. The onboard computer showed a fuel consumption of 3.6 liters, and when I refueled, the consumption was the same. Of course, without air conditioning and without any fun!

With my chipped 200-20V, I'm getting a whopping 21 liters per 100 kilometers on the highway after filling up. That's more expensive than a peep show! According to the display, it was even showing a momentary fuel consumption of 33 liters per 100 kilometers at maximum speed.
Same vehicle and very economical driving: 7.5 liters!

A3 AHF with 110 hp, consuming a minimum of 4.4 liters for "medium distances," meaning minimum distances of 15 km, with 95% being country roads and the rest city traffic. A maximum of 6.5 liters is consumed during fast highway driving. Previously, it never went below 5.4 liters, no matter how I drove. The average consumption today is 4.8 liters.

A4 with AJM engine, 115 hp common rail: minimum 5.5 liters per 100 km for brisk driving on country roads, maximum 7 liters for a trip from Wiesbaden to Hungary in 7.5 hours, and a 180 euro fine to Austrians for speeding.

Best regards,
Uwe

I recently weighed my Golf 3 1Z Variant – it came to 1350 kg with half a tank and basic equipment (me, a subwoofer, and a toolbox).

In the summer, I drive around using 5.2 to 6 liters per 100 kilometers (with tires size 195/60 R14).
Now, in winter (with 185/60 14 tires, glow plug heating, and heated seats), it consumes 6.6 to 6.3 liters per 100 kilometers.

The high values are strongly related to my enjoyment of driving on the highway.
GRA-140 is comfortable and economical.
Fuss-180 always puts a "6" before the decimal point.

If I don't drive on the hilly highway, the TDI engine is stressed by frequent short trips.

I haven't managed to get under 5 liters per 100 km (or about 50 mpg) in my TDI in 1.5 years. However, thanks to a fuel tank issue, I've actually achieved over 1200 km (about 745 miles) per fill-up (because it holds over 68 liters!).
